Objective of this Application

The objective of Celtic-arts.org is to specifically assist the organizer of a highland dance competition from the creation of an online form, to organizing dancers by divisions, age groups, assigning competition numbers to each dancer, scrutineers judges score, while providing secured but friendly and easy accessibility to both the competitors and the general public.

Documentation

The purpose of this documentation is to introduce and help you understand how the different components in this application work. The application has been developed to minimize the amount of documentation required.

Public

Without registration:

Review all online or production events
Review online form
Review any competition results

With registration:

Review all online or production events
Review online form
Review any competition results
Order or purchase tickets online for an event
Review orders created

To register, under Member state, select Join.
On the left-hand side of screen below Forgot your password? you will see Register.
Select Register and fill-in required information.

You are now register. Under Applications, select Highland Dance Public Registration. This will display a list of options for you to select from. If you select Buyer/Dancer List and Modify Data and see Options, this means no data has been entered. You have complete control of your data.

Approval Sub-site

The sub-sites require an approval form the board members of Celtic-Arts.org. These approvals are base on board members contacting the appropriate parties to verify the authenticity of the requester.

Each sub-site has specific roles and responsibilties and a user can belong to none or all of these sub-sites. More specific detailed information and functionality may be found at each subsite.

Highland Dance Organizer

This sub-site is for the highland dancer organizer and is restricted by approvals. Approvals are from the board members of Celtic-Arts.org and are base on board members contacting the appropriate parties to verify the authenticity of the requester.

This application contains more features then the average organizer will ever use.

Create an Online Entry Form
Make the Online Entry Form avalilable to the general public

Select Copy the Order data to Scrutineer
Select Assign Competition Number by Entry Date
Select Print out Dances Check-in Sheet
Hand out compeition numbers to dancers
Have the Scrutineer log in and ready to enter judges scores
Select Print out results for the competition
Make the Online Entry Form unavailable
Go home safely and relax

Within this sub-site the organizer can manage everything from creating an online form to printing out the final results of the competition.

Automatically

Calculate dancer's age base on competition date
Assign a competition number by date entry was received
Assign dancers to age groups with minimum of 6 dancers in each group
Assign dancer's position to dance base on competition number
Randomly generate an assigned draw position.

Reports

Count the number of dancers in each division
Count the number of dancers in each age group
Final competition results. (All or Fixed Number)

Change dance type at the last minute.
Add dancers at the event

Highland Dance Scrutineer

This sub-site is for Scrutineers and is restricted by approvals. Approvals are from the board members of Celtic-Arts.org and are base on board members contacting the appropriate parties to verify the authenticity of the requester.

The point system and positioning is base on the Scottish Official Board of Highland Dancing (SOBHD) 2017 point system.

Judges can enter their own scores, with or without comments
Scrutineers can enter judges scores, with or without comments
Edit scores and/or comments
Track who entered the last data set
Design for 1, 2 or 3 Judge competition

Requirements to Use

Any device that has a browser and can connect to the internet will work. The performance of this application is dictated by the speed of the internet connection.

This application is used like any other website. Simply select the appropriate "link" that you would like to use.
